River Muga Nature Trail

The River Muga Nature Trail follows the course of the river Muga. The trail starts at the river mouth of the Muga in Empuriabrava. It reaches Castelló d’Empúries where it continues on to Vilanova de la Muga and Pont de Molins. The route then climbs towards  Boadella and les Escaules and finally ends at Sant Llorenç de la Muga.

This trail serves as a link between different natural areas such as Areas of Natural Interest (EIN) of Alta Garrotxa, Salines, Penya-segats de la Muga and the Aiguamolls Natural Park. Along the way there are also connections with other sign-posted routes such as the Salines Bassegoda MTB centre, the Itineraria network of footpaths and the Saint Jaume Way. This allows many variations of itineraries along the course of the trail.
