Artist Josep Nuez presents his pencil drawing exhibition in Peralada.

Despite not having studied drawing or painting, the artist Josep Nuez has been drawing with pencil for a decade. “With a lot of patience,” he says, he has been learning as he draws.

Due to his early retirement, and thanks to a gift from his son of a box of pencils, an eraser and a pencil sharpener to ask him to draw a drawing for him, he began this hobby. Currently, there are about a hundred drawings.

“I like to get closer to all the details, no matter how small, of the photographs I draw.” He works with a magnifying glass, graphite pencils, erasers and sharpeners, these are all his working tools.

Nuez has already exhibited in Sant Llorenç de la Muga, Albanyà, Girona and Figueres. The Peralada exhibition will reflect his self-taught career.
