Josep Plaja, from Palafrugell, studied fine arts at the Massana School in Barcelona. He defines his work as neo-impressionist, due to his treatment of light and colors, with a technique used with oil paint. Winner of several painting prizes, especially in the form of fast painting, he has exhibited in numerous collective exhibitions in Figueres, Girona, Barcelona, Palamós, Palafrugell, Madrid, etc., especially at an individual level in the galleries El Claustre in Figueres and Girona and the Arnau Gallery in Barcelona.
